Houston Bootcamp

You say it's your body, well it's my body too yeah!!

Here at Houston Bootcamp, we have all learned or will soon learn, most diet plans work in the beginning, but soon "dieters" plateau, put the weight back on, and then finally become discouraged and quit.  Diets fail us, time and time again.  I have never been a fan of dieting.  It's just a "word" not a lifestyle, and that word often leads to a feeling of being overwhelmed and defeated. When the weight is put back on after much unnecessary food sacrificing, that can lead to feelings of failure and ultimately fuel an already low self-esteem.   I ask you, do you want to be on a diet the rest of your life ---   Or do you want a lifestyle that will add happiness to your life and not weight to your hips? My Houston Bootcamp will help you live that life!

Managing your weight is a Houston marathon not a sprint, it is someone you become, and not something you try.  It happens from the inside out.  I offer a balance of mind, body, and spirit through exercise and a motto of everything in moderation.

The physical-self provides the home in which the spiritual-self takes root and flourishes.  When we have acheived a state of wellness, we feel buoyant and energetic.  Some of us are naturally slim, while others will always be curvy.  A strong, fit, and well-nourished individual will seldom
feel heavy, bloated, or fatigued.  When you are physically healthy, your mind will also typically occupy a place of well being.

Houston Bootcamp training often combines running, interval training, and many other exercise using weights and/or body weight to lose body fat, increase cardiovascular efficiency, increase strength, and help people get into a routine of regular exercise. Many programs offer nutrition advice as well. It is called "Houston Bootcamp" because it trains groups of people, typically outdoors, and may or may not be similar to military basic training.

The term 'boot camp' is currently used in the fitness industry to describe group fitness classes that promote fat loss, camaraderie and team effort. They are designed to push people a little bit further than they would normally push themselves in the gym alone. Houston Bootcamp are often organized outdoors in parks using bodyweight exercises like push ups, squats, suspension training and burpees, interspersed with running and competitive games. The idea is that everyone involved works at their own pace as they team up and work towards one goal, either in pairs, small teams of three or four, or even two teams head on.

Boot Camp provide social support for those taking part. This provides a different environment for those exercisers who get bored in a gym and so find it hard to develop a habit of exercise. Participants in Houston make friends and socialize as they exercise, although how strict the trainers or drill instructors in charge can be will depend on the company running the camp. Members of Houston bootcamp are usually tested for fitness on Day 1 and then retested at the end of the camp, which usually runs for between 4-6 weeks.

Bootcamp is often based on the military style of training. Usually held outdoors the activities include jogging, sprinting, plyometrics, push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges, suspension training and a variety of other calisthenic exercises. An advantage of a Houston Bootcamp is that the large group dynamic will often help motivate the participants
